727 Console Shift Linkage bottom rod orientation 72 Charger SE

I am assembling the console shift linkage on my 72 Charger SE with 440 and 727 tranny. I dont have the benefit of having taken it apart as it is as a disassembled project I have taken over. I ma not sure if I have the bottom rod correctly assembled. Does the pic look correct or is the rod upside down? The swivel connection seems to fit best this way, however the cotter key at the front is at the top. Intuitively I would think they would design it to be on the bottom. The manual is not clear enough. Does anyone have a correct photo?
