I have a rebuilt 727 and torque converter push button auto that came off a LA 318 behind a 63 phoenix.(440 Sedan)

A fellow is interested in buying it for his ol phoenix which has a poly 318.

What is needed to convert back from LA to Poly????

Thanks

Are you sure you don't have that backwards? We didn't get the LA318 in Canada until '68, the States may have had them in '67. Before that it was only the Poly or 273 for small blocks in the '60s. Regardless, the bellhousings are the same but they have different input shafts. Is his car pushbutton as well?

The LA has been fitted couple of years ago replacing a Poly 318.

Apparently the Poly engine that this fellow wants the 727 to go behind is a 1960 build date.

Does this affect the fit up?

not 100 percent sure...I have heard that the LA and the Poly 318 share the same bell housing bolt pattern. That may have been why you were able to put the LA318 in place of your poly.
