Hi all, my first time posting here...I have a 68 GTX, 440 car that I stuck a 727 in from a wrecked car, I wasn't sure if it worked however at the time I just needed it for mock-up and to give me something to bolt the newly built motor to( It looked good!) So, when I crawled under the car I noticed that I can rotate the output shaft by hand in one direction, no matter what position the shift lever is in (except park)...I assumed it wouldn't be able to be rotated in gear, or at least go the other way in reverse? Obviously I'm not much of a transmission guy and wondering if this thing needs to come out and go to the shop..thanks for any info!

Normal, the park pawl holds in P. in gear there is no connection between the trans and crank. the resistance you feel is turning the planetarys and drums.

Thanks that's good to know...we'll roll with it for now and see how it shakes out!
