I've got 64 sport fury with a console factory shifter but I'm using a 68 727 transmission. How do I run the cable from the shifter to the trans. I've got a B&M cable but I'm having troubles . There does not seam to be enough room (engine, starter, headers and trans) to bend the cable 180 degrees so it will hook up to the trans. Has someone done this before ? I need help.

If you are trying to use a stock shifter with a B&M cable, it won't work without a lot of fabrication. I did it before. There's some after market shifters that will fit under the console. I think the B&M Qiicksilver shifter is one. You must put a heat sleeve on the cable. I'm not suggesting Imperial services because they have been having a lot of issues.

I run a B&M shifter in my 64 plymouth. Its the one with a little square chrome cover. Very popular in the 60s. Probably fit in your counsule. Anyways I was melting cables so I converted the shifter to a rear exit cable. Easy enough. So I was able to bring the cable to the trans from the back. No more melted cables. Been on the car like that bout 15 years now with not 1 problem.
