Hi all, I need some help on figuring out what kind of torque converter I need for my tranny. The engine and trans are out of supposedly a 1969 charger and engine is dated 1969 with matching trans. Its a 727 torque flight. I want to replace the converter but I need to know what kind of stall converter I need and I have also read different size converters. I am pretty much completely in the dark on this one. If it helps my motor is a 383 4 barrel stock bored .30 over with a holly 650. Thanks for the help.

With a stock or relatively mild engine, you will see no benefit to using a high stall converter. I would think that a standard 11 inch factory converter would work just fine for you. If you have a 383, it is probably a steel crank and will not need a converter with the balance weights.

What is a typical convertor stall rpms?

Most of these are in the 1800-2000 stall range with some of the performance models in the 2400 stall range

So the one I have a link to in my original post should suffice?
