I am wondering what the stock stall was on a 1967 Plymouth using an A-727 Tranny ?

It depends on the engine, two BBL or four Barrel. For the 68' 383 Four barrel the book shows 2350-2650.(10.75 Diameter) The 383 2 BBl is 1850-2100.(11.75 Diameter) I don't have a 67' Book, but this is close. 318 2 BBl 1750-1950

I put a 440 into a Plymouth Satellite with a 750 Holly 4 barrel , mild bump in cam , .30 over and 383 gears

I used the 2350-2650 for my 67' 440 HP and it works like OEM. I guess it depends on what you mean by a bump. I had a .509 lift with the stock HP 2350-2650, and it still worked well. But I don't race anymore, others may have a better experience.

3500 with my 472 hemi...but that doesn't answer the question...

Never had any kind of a Mopar that would stall over 2300. Factory tach on a 70 440 Challenger RT showed 2300 but we all know how accurate a factory tach was......

My cam is Dur 280 Lift 474, added heavier valve springs and just plan to drive on street , I was told to have a stall between 2200-2600 and am wounding if stock convertor will do the job. Thanks for your help

You got it! I just had another one made for a 1970 383 Roadrunner from a great shop In Fort Doge, Iowa. Pn#2801764. They did tell me the 69'-71 440HP was 2000-2300.(2843586), so Cranky knows his stuff. But I used the 383 Torque Converter I had already done for the 67'. They told me the highest stall made OEM was PN#2801766, 68-71 Hemi,2650-2850. I told them Oh no, I'm fine! Great guys there if anyone needs one made. They took my core, and modernized it with more up to date Internal parts.

Never had a Hemi car so never experienced much with them even tho I've driven one....and only one :( Good thing is that it was a 70 Cuda! :)

a 440 can "flash" an 11 3/4" converter around 2100-2200rpm; if it's making some low end torque. if not then around 1800rpm. i have a 440 with a 10 3/4 street hemi converter that will flash it about 2300rpm but it doesn't make the off idle torque my 11 3/4" converter engine has.

Cuda story! My little Brother went to Saudi in 1975, so I had to babysit his 71' 340 Cuda four speed for a year. He sold it for $1,600 Bucks in 1976! To this day I think I was brain dead that year for not buying it. I questioned why the 383 was so much higher stall speed. They said apparently the factory knew what they were doing. Who am I to question? I know it works extremely well.
