Is it possible to take a three on the tree car and put it on the floor in a stock automatic shifter console? If possible, does the tranny tunnel need modification?
I think you're asking, "If I have a column 3-speed, can I change it to a floor shift 3-speed & have the shifter fit inside an automatic trans shifter console"....that answer is "no".
However, you can definitely swap it to a 3-speed floor shifter with modification to the driveshaft tunnel (you need a hole for the shifter) and "maybe" that will fit inside a 4-speed console....probably, but I'm not sure.
You can do it but the easiest route would be an aftermarket shifter since they use an easily routed cable versus all the linkage that the factory used. You could go the factory route but as mentioned you'd have parts to round up, hole to drill and some brackets to weld in.
