Hey guys. I posted this ? on the bullett and want to see what you guys think.
My 727 is hesitating on the 2-3 shift now. any thoughts? It does it weather I shift it or let it shift. Is this something that can be fixed in the car or does it need to come out?

First off: Have you checked your fluid level? after that I would call Rick Allison at A&A transmission(317-831-3066) He knows everything when it comes to Mopar transmissions.

low fluid, worn intermediate band, a sticking 2-3 shift valve (or worn spring), front servo piston ring worn or front clutch piston seal worn. can be a lot of things...

everything but the fluid requires you breaking into the case.. everything but the 2-3 shift valve and servo piston require dropping the transmission.

I had bad luck with this on my 70 Bee. Got to make sure the kickdown is absolutely correct, or it'll start doing this, and by then it's toast.

what do u mean by hesitating? does it flare when shifting 2-3?

if your throttle pressure rod (aka kickdown rod) is not adjusted properly, two things will happen:

1) it will not shift out of 1st or 2nd or shift only when you let off the gas

or

2) it will quick shift between the gears like it skips 2nd altogether

so on that note.. will it shift after you let off the gas or does it "slip" when shifting between 2-3?

race dodge is right, unless it has a Manuel valve body-NOT good if isint hooked up, just my 2 cents. Ron
