In my quest for dragging home and saving old Mopars I posted a few days ago on here my 73 Plymouth Roadrunner Gtx U code. Well here is another one that will get an opportunity for new life in the near future. 73 Dodge Charger 340 Magnum H code car. All original with numbers matching 340 and 8.75. The car sat since 1996 so 20 years of abandonment before I came across her in field edge at wood line. Literally had to cut the car from its resting place. Picking up parts and sheet metal at Carlisle this year to start on the car. If anybody has pics of your 73 Dodge Charger 340 magnum car love to see them. Project or restored.

Its true. I grabbed a complete 68 Charger last fall from a lady who parked it in 1984. It was a good by but the bouncing on the trailer on the long ride home revealed the rear rails were too rusty and the springs went into the trunk. I should have kept it and fixed it but I wanted something that didn't need major surgery so I sold it and bought my roadrunner. If I could have afforded both I would have kept the 68, I may never find another I can afford. If you are patient and look they can be found.

Last year while car hunting I also drove and walked from a 73 340 4 speed roadrunner for $7500 but the car had been customized to the point that it would have been hard to make it right so I moved on there too.

my 73 came with a ton of extra parts door, fendrs, valances, hoods

Since this is a relatively new post and I'm new to this message board..... I would like to make some comments, and ask a few questions thereby aknowledging my own ignorance on the matter. There seems to be some debate on the 73-74 Road Runner VIN and fender tag coding with regard to Coupes and Hardtops. (On hardtops, all of the side windows may be rolled down. On the coupes, the rear quarter windows are stationary and will NOT roll down.) Every 73-74 RR VIN and fender tag I have seen have read "RM21" and therefore where "Coupes". I've heard many people claim that all 73-74 RRs where only availabe as "RM21" Coupes. I've also heard of and seen a few RRs that claim to be hardtops; but have never seen the actual VIN or fender tag to support this. If they do exist for 73-74, then they "theoretically" would be RM23 codes. I have seen many RH23 and RP23 Satellite and Sebrings which are definately hardtops and many of them cloned to be RRs. Does anyone out there know definitively if the 73-74 Roadrunner/GTX was indeed produced as a Hardtop (RM23 code)? If so, I'd love to see some documentation on this. I corresponded with a guy who claimed that he had a 73 RR GTX "hardtop" RM23U3 and his pictures showed all of the side windows indeed rolled down; but he would not show the VIN or fender tag for verification. Again, I'm only concerned with 73-74 RR models. I don't really trust what some "author" says in some "special" book; because they all seem to contradict each other. Any concrete info on this is much appreciated.

I believe that the roadrunners were only Rm21 in 73 & 74. However I have heard of people who had power window cars that had rear windows that rolled down. Also some guys have taken the window mechanisms from satellites to retrofit their roadrunners with roll down rears.
