Is this some kinda light above the gauge cluster and if so, what should one really look like?
This is fun, putting things back as they should be on a classic car isn't it. I wish I had more experience
with these 73 RR' s. It would go a lot quicker (maybe). But if so what fun I would miss.

That went to the fasten seat belts light.
A map light there was an option but takes a different set of wires.

That's a map light option.

Not to hard to find on ebay and fairly cheap.

Thanks, I will go an scope it out.

Put a request to your fellow members here.... Bet you get a bite quick.

good luck...

while your at it.... That dash looks like a custom wrap with vinyl or something... Dash caps are available if the cost of a repaired dash from Just Dashes is too rich... I know there are a few thread on the subject on this site...

Two lights are there... maplight you can switch on manually or with opening the doors..... and the second light at the other end is "Fasten seatbelts"

The other option is that with the speaker fader knob in the middle between the two lamps.

I've always seen the speaker knob on the lower left of the dash, beside the rear defog switch.

There are three mounts there. What's the third for? Wagon gate window, maybe?

Wow, I have never seen a speaker knob under the dash where the map lights or dash lights are. I would live to see that.

I'll check my spare Satellite dash when I get home tonight and report back here.

YY1 here is a pic of the wagon door window switch which is the same general construction as the rear defog switch and fits right into one of those three spots on the bottom left dash.

I figured.

thanks.

Now that I think about it, how could you have all three?

if you have a wagon, you probably don't have rear defrost.

There 4 filler panels. The Fasten Seat Belt light started in 72. Some say late 71 but out of the over twenty 71 B's that I've owned including late ones none had the FSB light.
The map light and rear speaker was an option for all 4 years.
71 blank
71 w/ map light
72-4 standard w/ FSB light
72-4 w/ map light
The speaker switch can be added to any of them.

As for the lower dash switches, yes 3 switches can be installed. Trying to find a pic I had of a 71 Charger that has 3 switches. Air Grabber, Rear defog, Head light wipers. The speaker switch was never installed down below on the 71-4 B's.

Also on the lower switches, all use the same housing and light. Just different switches and bezels.
Air Grabber 71-2
Rear defog 71-3
Rear defrost 74
Rear window. Wagon 71-4
Rear door lock Wagon 71-4
Head light wipers. 71-2 Charger

Sorry I forgot to get back last night but looks like moparmarks got ya couvered.

The Satty dash I have only has the seatbelt light but my chargr has the seatbelt and map light as well as the speaker fader.

A/G---duh!

I just gave away a 74 dash that had the "RR Speaker" knob under the a/c controls.

Tried to take it off to sell, but couldn't.

That car also came with a cassette recorder.

The plate I took from the junkyard that had all 3 came from a ('76?) 4-door Monaco or Fury (was 20 years ago).

I would love it if Jeff sold the lens for the lamp..I have a few plates in good shape, but the lens is shot in all of them.
