I'm new to the site, so I hope this is the right area for this question which I'm sure is silly.

It's been about 30 years since I worked on old cars. I have a 73 Satellite I just bought and the dome light bulb is not there. I went to get one at the part store and just grabbed one that looked right. Unfortunately there were 4 model numbers that looked exactly the same. Went to the counter to see if they could help me. Handed me a bulb that definitely wasn't even close based on their computer. So I asked the difference between the model numbers. The person looked on the computer and then said "I would go with...(long pause) this one" It did not instill confidence.

Can anyone tell me what bulb would work. I'm assuming the bulbs were different wattage, but they didn't seem to know and it was no where on the packages.

I knew I loved restoring old cars for some reason.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mines a 73 but not a Sebring, ill look today in the AM and see what type of bulb its it, i don't remember any problems replacing it, This is new to me, not that its not true ive been surprised before.. It should have some numbers ill get for you.

Its a bit later then AM but the number on the dome light bulb in my 73 Sat is 1004, and the bulb itself looks like a turn signal or back light bulb, Just smaller if that helps any... good luck.

Thanks!

Thanks so much! Not having the bulb and having a less than knowledgeable parts store nearby made it more challenging.

I purchased something that I thought looked about right, but it wasn't and blew the fuse. Oh well, when I go back to buy the 1004 I'll get fuses as well.

Like I said, I'm new to this forum and Mopars, but I love the friendly people!
