Hello Club!
I have converted the 2bbl 318 Dart to the aluminum heads, intake and 4bbl 600 Eelbrock.

Am having no luck kicking in 4bbl with existing 2bbl cable (sheath is pulled back) and the trans. bar where the carb. shaft slides thru it.

I put a nut and bolt in the slotted (on engine) section to shorten the play.

Motor opens up in park, not in gear with pedal to floor.
Do I need to get the 4bbl cable and bar, or can the existing pieces be used, modified?

I did switch around the springs under the jet rod assemblies, went back to original silver ones.

Timing is 12 at damper, 20 degrees in dist. allin around 3200.

Can't crack open the carb. in gear.

Thanks,

Dave D.

you will need the 4bbl linkage from the carb to the cantilever, which is longer and the
4bbl mount for the throttle cable which is an inch or so higher

I cut and lengthened the 2bbl cable mount bracket About an inch higher. I also spaced the kick down rod with a bolt & nut. This helps a lot but I do not feel it works just as its suppose to every time. I think you would be best to go ahead and buy a after market kick down cable set up. This is my next purchase after the 360 swap.

Thanks, I moved the eddy adapter about 1/2 forward to get full pedal to cable. Secured with same 5/16 hardware with a 3/8 nut o the 5/16 bolt to space the adapter, and it holds in place.
Did not test it yet. Seems to have full pedal action to open the rear bbl.'s.
Also guessed on nut and bolt in kickdown slot. Changed low profile air cleaner base due to squashing and holding linkage open. WOW!
Might need sources for 4bbl cable if the mods fail.
Dave.

Thanks IR3333,
I moved the eddy adapter 1/2 forward to open secondaries with pedal.
The acc. cable has a ball and a pinned swivel, which had 1/2 of loose play with pedal floored.
The kick down bar on the 74 has a long slot. Nut and bolt in place, not sure how far kick down bar should open along with secondary action?
Dave.
