742 489 center sections.

My going to sell off a couple suregrip center sections ive had for 20 plus years. Both are still in the factory rear ends . One is maked 68 imp suregrip 489 case. The other is marked 64 imp dana traction lok. Its been a long time since ive sold one . What would be a fair price guys ?

I bought one a few years back just 489 sure grip center section for $275 and have seen them for $500-$700 which I think is crazy, depends on wheather you want to get rid of them or not.

A new set-up, is well north of a grand.

Reasonably priced ones are around $450 give or take depending on condition.

$600 or so for a used one. If they're new/rebuilt and unused, $1,000-$1,200. Those are asking prices. What they are selling for changes by the day.

whats the gear ratios?
stamped into the edge of the ring gear there.
you might have a good one,
altho most of the imps used what 2:79/2:94/'s ??

as far as prices,i sold a 2:94 for 200 bucks,
and the guy said he might have went 300.
really depends on the gear ratio.

Gear ratio is 2.94 , gears are easy to come by. 489 Sure grips in very good condition are not.

actually,if you know your " older " dodge trucks,
they are easy to find.
most of those sno commanders will be 4:10 gears as well.
best part,a junkyard chunk is 100 tops,
just gotta do the work of removing them.
