8 3/4 489 Case Spline differences????????

I am planning to buy a 489 8 3/4 3.23 pumpkin to change out my 4.10 -
the seller says his is out of a 70 Roadrunner - and he says the spline may be
different - he says it changed from 65 or 66 - does anyone know bout this?
- would a 70 to a 66 be a bolt in? no surprises?

All FACTORY 8 3/4 have a 30 spline count. It will bolt in and your axles will slide in, then your ready to cruise.

I just had mine done. Came out of a 1969 440 8 3/4 489. I had 3:91's and changed them to 3:55's, but when we went to put the new gears in my yoke had a 10 spline and so did the pinion. So I had to find a new 30 yoke. It end up costing me more money than I planned on.

I see your talking about the yoke...they came in coarse and fine spline. Both are good and either one can be had with the 7290 u-joint.Sorry, thought you were talking about the spline count in the sure-grip.
