8 3/4 axle swap ????

would axles from a 67 charger be the same as ones from a 68 gtx? both are 8 3/4 axles

Yes, till 62-70 they will be the same length

67 and earlier 83/4 are narrower,68 axles will not tighten to the flange in a 67 housing,have experienced this when building my Super Bee.

66 and 67 should be the same.The length of the 68-69 axle listed in the Super Bee ,Charger,Road Runner restoration guide measures 29-7/32" long and housing59-29/32" flange to flange.

Every 66-67 8 3/4 I've measured (have checked many) have all been up to 3/4" shorter over all than 68-70 rears.....

The whole axle housing assembly should work and you may not even notice, unless you're almost rubbing your tires on the inside wheel well. OTOH, if you're almost rubbing on the outside, you'll be better off.
