I asked this in the Suspension forum but I may have better luck over here in the Driveline forum. I'm trying to find a source for the metal gaskets for the rear end that are sandwiched between the end of the axle tube and the brake backing plate. Anyone find these at NAPA, O'Reillys, or Auto Zone lately?

Last two 8 3/4" rears I worked on, yes, typical parts houses had the kits in stock.

If you have a O'Reillys in reach, might check Fel-Pro numbers 55032 (steel), and 13800 (foam)...supposed to be good numbers for the 8 3/4". Be sure to check 'em, for same hole pattern.

Something I usually do with those steel gaskets, a light coat of spray Coppercoat on both sides. Just for added insurance.

Exactly what I need. Thanks. I checked on line for O'Reillys, Advance, Auto Zone and Napa and came up empty. Also at Classic, Year One, Mancini and Bill Rolick without luck. Hard to come up with anything without a part number. I have an O'Reillys close by.

Thanks to all who responded.

Yeah...good luck with it! Just be sure to check it out.

Almost funny. Did a quick check at Jegs (I think), found Fel-Pro 55032, and it was listed for a 7 1/4" rear!
Their around. Just gotta find a parts guy (or gal) who don't have their head in their a...

Went to O'Reillys and asked for Fel Pro 55032 gaskets. He looked awhile and showed me a picture on his computer of a valve cover gasket!! I asked is that 55032 and he said yes. I told him I need an axle bearing retainer gasket. He looks awhile and can't find it and turns the screen towards me and says this is all Fel Pro has. Right in the middle was Fel Pro 55032 axle gasket staring us in the face?? So anyway, I have two of them ordered and should get them next week.

Thanks again.
