I am looking for a 8 3/4 for my '74 Satellite. I have been offered a non-posi one complete drum to drum. What is that worth and will the axles work if I find a posi center section?

Does it have the gear ratio you want to run? It's worth more to you if it does because you'd only need a sure-grip. That you could install yourself. What is the center third member housing number on driver side? 741, 742 or 489, last 3 digits of part number.

In my opinion, the complete rear end is worth $300-$400. The axles will work if you find a "posi" center section. All you'd need is a complete posi center section, gaskets & new gear lube.

Axles should be 30 spline and yes, will work with a SureGrip unit. If you get a clutch plate SureGrip, make sure the center thrust pin is still installed in it.

And you didn't mention what the 8-3/4 came out of, but they came in different widths for different vehicles so you need to verify that the overall width (and perch locations!) will work for you car..

It's a 1972 Charger. I believe the '71-'74 B bodies are same. I should have put that in my question thanks for the reply.

Yes 71-74 are the same width however the spring perch on 73-74 have a large centering hole. this was for the addition of an road noise rubber isolation contraption.

You can replace the perches or tack weld in an appropriately sized washers... Firm feel does have a kit for this reason as well.
