8.75 Axle Gasket Question

I've got a question about axle gaskets. In all the 8.75 diagrams I see, there are two axle gaskets shown. One goes up against the end of the housing, and I guess seals the brake backing plate to the housing, and the second seals the retainer to the front of the backing plate???

I saw those diagrams too, I rtv both and forget it. There's no oil in there just grease and since you adjust endplay the absence of the gaskets don't matter.

There is a steel one that goes between the brake backing plate and the axle housing. Then there is a foam one that goes between the backing plate and the bearing retainer.
