8.75 diff and axle

can someone explain which 8.75 diff. had friction buttons on the axle and some didnt.
 
The sure grip clutch pack type is the one with the buttons. It is bolted together.
 
Can't adjust your axle end play.
 
Sorry what I meant was concerning your question,
If the buttons fall out, you will not be able to set endplay.
 
What if only one side fell out????
If it was the drivers side? You might be able to screw in the right side far enough to to still achieve endplay, on that side?? :lol: :drinks:

My big concern is a loose unknown ejected button loose inside the housing.

Checked my 741 the buttons are there
We know they are not loose in the housing. I'll double check the housing before installing the 742
