9/9 - Gilmore Auto Museum - Muscle Car Plus show - B Bodies featured

I don't think I will make it there for this one but I really want to check out the museum one of these days.
Car show, swap meet, and featuring Mopar B-bodies? That's pretty cool.

You should have been there in July for the Mopars at the Red Barns show too. Great show and the weather was perfect again this year.

The Gilmore grounds is a great place for a car show though, regardless of whether its all Mopar or a multi-make show. You will have a good time there if you go, I highly recommend the place. However, you need to have extra time to actually go inside the Barns and see the museum cars as well. Incredible stuff. If you go once, you'll go again.

I wished I'd seen that show coming up this weekend. I would have pushed harder to get my 65 Dodge on the road.

I was there several years ago for the Volvo Club of America midwest meet. My group protested it because you had to be a member of VCOA and pay an outrageous fee to park with the other Volvos. Our "not at VCOA" group parked outside the formal area but had heaps of interest in our Volvos. I even got to use the "track." That's why I'm keen to go back, but now with a Mopar! :)

Sounds like VCOA guys take themselves a little too seriously. That's not the most inviting way to get other enthusiasts to join a club.

Exactly! We tried working with them and offered a suggestion about a discounted fee for those of us young guys who only wanted to attend the Gilmore Show and not attend all the other activities they had going on. But nope, they wouldn't have it. LOL - we actually made up stickers "Not at VCOA Show 2010" and had them on our cars. People were like "oh what's that mean?" and we explained and had quite the support and understanding. :)

I still do that now at local car shows, it pisses me off that I have to pay money to show my car and let other people enjoy my car. I'm not five years old and don't need or want a trophy; I don't enter the show, I just go to show the car. One show told me "then general parking is over there." WTF??!?!?

Was there 3 weeks ago during Woodward week. Great museum. Had a 62 Plymouth and several other B Bodies in first room. Great Museum. No ropes, can walk up to all cars and displays.
