Does anyone know where I can find replacement bushings for the rear sway bar on the 1972 Roadrunner GTX? The ones that connect to the axle appear to have been welded around the bar.

Thanks rearsway2.jpg

Thanks Birdman, I still didn't see the inner bushings for the rear sway bar. Am I missing something?

If they are still intact leave them be as I can not find them either. I drilled the welds and welded the strut back on mine years ago and bolted it back together so the rubber would not get damaged. I know it will not pass as original but it works. FSM does not cover rear stabilizer bar but stats if bushings in front bar are bad to replace assembly. Sorry I am of no help finding parts.

We have not found any of those bushings either for my brother's '72 Charger with a DANA. His are very nice, but we are going to get measurements so that when they do go bad, we can machine new ones out of black polyurethane.

This kit contains the bushings you are looking for. There are aftermarket sway bay strut repair kits that have those bushings in them too. Replacing them isn’t as hard as it looks, lube up the bar and work it around through the old strut bushing. From there the bushing can be pushed out of the welded strut bushing retainer, new one can be forced back in. Lube up the bar and work it back to where it belongs. Have done it many times over the years.

Only thing I didn’t like about that auction is they are showing two different bushings, not real clear which one you wind up with, one is correct however.

I lost the $11 gamble but I think I can modify them with a very sharp razor knife if I don't find the originals. The re-seller did ship be both sets for the price of one set.
