whoa! i was just in Golden Valley, AZ visiting my brother, and he didn't say anything about this place. (he recently moved there from PA) now the next time i visit him will be going there. thanx BIGSCHLUNK :hello2:

69roadr its right on the main Hwy, U cant miss it!

Dude...I want to live there, I'll make my bed in that hearse...lol, buy me a Javelin and I'll be your best friend...ok, creepy, nice find!! I hate living in the greedy rust belt, if you ever found a yard like that here, it would be crushed for scrap metal prices in less than a week, every last one of them. Sad, but greedy bastages here, you can't find anything older than late 90's parts in our yards, once in a while way out in the country a small yard with some rusty 50's relics might live, but not much picking around here.

there were a couple of cool cars there for sure

Yes there were some cool cars there! Depends what your into. The days of finding a ton of the old "preferred" muscle is long over, old_skool is right about NOT finding this stuff around here. Even the few MOPARS in my row here are getting eaten up by mid-west weather.

That place is cool. Wasn't that the yard where they got the baracuda for an episode of Roadkill?

that I don't know.... but it was on an episode of Pawn Stars

Looking at the pictures. Noticed the Thunderbird pickup on the 2nd page of the 2nd site. Did you get to see it? Looks like maybe a 63 model.
Thanks for the post

It looks a lot like the yard where part of the movie "Charlie Varrick" was filmed in the early '70's

Kind of reminds me of the Island of Misfit Toys, a sort of purgatory for old cars that aren't desirable enough to restore but there's a slim chance some one might want something off them ay some point.

As for "greedy" junkyards, they are in the business of selling parts and scrap metal and not museums. If you've got 100 potential customers for 90s+ for every one who might want a part off an old car, you're going to need to keep newer cars in stock.

Was at MATS also. Wanted to tour some junk yards too but wife wanted to see Rick's Restorations,Pawn Stars and Counts Kustoms and ran out of time. Good excuse to go back again MATS is a good show.

The white Dodge van on the second page looks like my first vehicle. My dad gave it to me when I was 16, it was an electrical utility van. Rebuilt the 225 slant six, three on the tree. Drove the wheels of it as a teenager in the 70's. Brings back memories. Didn't have enough cash for a cool driver, but - at least I had a MOPAR!

Cool junk yard.

Thanks for sharing.

If that aint the truth! Being in the business gives you a different perspective on things.
