A 12 Block found ?

I came across this block today,here are a few pics, does it look legit???

From what i see it looks to be a good one. The partcial VIN is close to another A12 bee on the six pack registery as it is 9A306911.

I also have this posted on the A12 board, Dave posted a pic of his block and his 3 has a rounded top, the one I found the 3 has a flat top, I,ve looked at pics of earlier blocks like his and the 3's all have rounded tops, I've seen blocks stamped with flat topped 3's like the one on the 383 in the pic,did they change the font???

The block that you have in your last picture is from the St. louis Assembly plant because of the "G". All A12 cars were built at the Linch RD. assembly plant with an "A" for the assembly plant. Possible different stamps at differnt assembly plants? I would not get to concerned with the vin staming unless it was the matching block to the car. Other wise a block with a close casting and assembly date to the car its going into will be the best you can do.

The 3 stamped on my rad support has a flat top also, did they use different fonts on the blocks than the bodies?
