A friend bought this and got it to his home today. It was a local Helena, Alabama car setup gasser style with a Hemi. The Hemi is gone, but has a very stout 440 now. It's been sitting for years, but I was told it runs, and with a little updating can see action again soon. What I was told: 61 Valiant, front straight axle, 12.5 to 1 440, cam unknown 950 double pumper, hemi automatic, B body Dana 60 with 5.13's.

61? Someone doesn't have a clue! Cool old 63 though. Hot rodding at it's finest.

Yes, he did say 63. I had a 61 at one time and agree completely different than the 60-62. I guess 61 stuck in my head when I typed this. Hope I didn't miss anything else.

it's different

could make a cool toy for someone

More pictures today and a little more information. Race car since new. 12.5 Dome top TRW pistons, 906 heads 2.14/1.81 valves and port work. Hughes 615/630 lift cam, 32" tall slicks. Original engine when built was a 392 Gen I Hemi and a clutchflite. Now the 440 and Hemi 727. Was said to have run with a 8 3/4 for a number of years. He assumes the Dana came with the engine change. It's crude, but it's a race car, not a show piece. I like it, but updates are really needed.

Wow! Awesome old drag car.

Engine specs are real similar to my 383...
