i want to setup the rev limiter on my msd 6 al box, but i cannot find any info on it, Anyone else done it or know how it is done, is there a switch or is it a plug in device of some sorts.
any info is greatly appreciated

They use plug-in modules - commonly referred to as pills. ranges from 3,000-8,000 RPM or thereabouts.
The pills slot into the side of the MSD box - two small pins. You can buy mine if you want - usually cost around NZ$45 for a set of 5.
LMK if interested and what range you are looking for.

These are the ones I can find right now....I also figured out how to make a custom module - to suit the RPM desired if a pill is not available in that range :)

Don't know anything about plug in's, but with my MSD 6AL, It's a piece of cake man...(could have a different model)

There's a little black cover next to the LED on the face of the box. That pops off. There are two dials under that cover. One on the left is for thousands, one on the right is for hundreds. (Example...6500 RPM, left dial to 6, right dial to 5) It can be set from 2000 to 11,000 RPM. Don't think your 505 will be hitting over the 10K range, but if you want to make out at the 11,000. Set the left dial to 1 and the right to zero. Good luck.

Little pic if it helps:

mine must be an old one as it has the white plug looking thing in the side as the first post shows.
is that all it is KIWI? I might go check what is in it at the moment.

it says 6000, I wonder if that is too high? thoughts?

also some good news, my wife is letting me buy for Christmas:
indy heads
indy 440-25 dual quad intake
diamondback engines are making me a custom grind solid cam
and building me 2x edelbrock 625cfm carbs for my setup. should go good.

so I will be selling my stealth heads, ch28 intake and my 2 500 eddies.

Sounds like you have an older model like I had....only need a pill for the RevLimiter. You need to work out the max revs on your engine - I ran the 6600 when racing, but 5800 on the street....and never hit it :)

Hmm...Learn something new everyday, Thanks fellas.

Heck of a Christmas present Benno. I think "Should go good" is an understatement. That thing should end up being a tornado on wheels.

i can only hope

i might try the 5800 one i dont think i have even gone over 5000, she spins the sticky 295's at 1500 rpm
