Hey people I have a 69 super bee all matching # N96 4speed. It's A4 silver black interior. Anyhow does anyone know if this is a rare color cause I'm having a hard time finding any info ??? Is it more rare being a 4 speed N96 ram charger ??? Or was there a lot of them ??? Thanks BTW this site is the BEST it has already tought me so much , just finished fixing my gauges thanks to this site

There is no way to know how many came in that color. Nor is it possible to put options together like four speeds and N96 to determine how many of what combination. The factory information just doesn't work like that.

Thanks again 69 coronet wasn't sure. How is it that people can say it one of only ten or whatever in this color with these options bla bla bla. I thought there must have been some kind of records kept !!!

There are some things known through the Options and Accessories report. The factory records indicate what percentage of cars came with the option. Sadly, color was not one of the things tracked on the report.

Since the report lists percentages, there is some wiggle room to the actual number of cars produced. It's inaccurate but people do cite the O&A reports when they do the "1 of X" thing. Or, people misintrepret information they have come across or the '1 of X' quotes could come from somone recieving a letter or report from a registry or serivice. That's just how many of the cars that specific registry knows about. It is not an accurate factory count.

In general, the "1 of X" is overblown and means nothing except for the rarest of cars. When you consider the number of options available on these cars, it's no wonder a car is 1 of 1. It's a wonder to find two cars alike.

I think that color combo would be very appealing, regaurdless of how rare it is. I'm sure there were alot fewer A4's than the greens and browns which were so common back then.
Another point on the 1 of X is Galen Govier sometimes would say "your car is 1 of X", but that was only of the cars he knew about and not the total production figures. I think his statements have confused some people.

concur with other answers here esp that if you look at all options possible most cars are 1 of very very few :). From my perspective buying, selling, looking at, researching, loving these cars for 35 years A4 is much less common that most colors ... also why you are having a tough time finding info on them or pics for that matter. Also, some were re-painted to hemi orange, plum crazy, red, etc. But in looking at junk yards and original cars years ago i only saw a handfull in person and i've seen a lot. My dad bought a new A4 69 RR in decatur, IL and that car was pretty. I wish we still had it.

so congratulations and i would say your

is a "rare" AND desirable car. Cool color AND 4speed AND N96 AND matching numbers... what could go wrong :) share some pics regardless of it's present state if you can and welcome aboard.

Can you tell me any good sites to find out info on my car. Thanks everyone you guys are awsome

I'd be happy to but what specific information are you looking for? You may be able to find it here just by asking questions. Be specific as you can. There is a lot of knowledge right here.

It's wearing a coat of 68 B9 blue at the moment but will get its A4 silver back one day

Is there any way possible I can get another broadcast sheet from somewhere ??? Regretably, no. Owners of some 67's and earlier can get a copy of the factroy IBM sheet to help document cars but those records do not exist for 68 and later (or they cannote be retrieved depending on the story)

How do I find the Opitions and Accessorys report ??? You can order one from GTS. (Galen's Tag Service) http://www.gvgovier.com/options.htm

Is there any sites about build sheets... Not good ones that I have found. Most on line sites tend to be very generic and do not distinguish codes between years. There is a lot of information to decoding sheets that doesn't translate well to websites. Most of the codes are sales codes or factory assembly codes. do you have specific questions about the BS?

Is there anyone that does searches like Galen Govier that I can give all the info I have and they can tell me anything I don't know ???....Possibly. Galen tends to have the largest public assesible service, IF your car had been registered in the past or he has paperwork for it, he may be able to help you. Bary Washington has a large 'lost and found' section also. You can check here: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/found.shtml

Good looking car!

Hey fellow aussie benno, apparently it a 68 blue I think it might be B9 blue but it was originally A4 silver. Where you at benno??? That's going to be one tuff ride when you are finished

That is a very hard color to find.My Father bought a 1969 Super Bee brand new.It was A4 silver, black interior, red tail stripe, ramcharger hood,383,4 speed. We have been going to Mopar shows since 1984 and have only seen maybe 3 A4 69 Bees and 2 A4 R/T's.

Thanks 68383GTS. I thought they may be a bit rare I have googled lots of stuff but only found pics of one other. Just love the B body mopars nothing looks anywhere near as tuff as these things.

yeh mate im in mount isa qld, not far from being finished my build is in the members build section i think im on page 5.
i think your colour is a custom take off of b9 blue as i think the factory colour wasnt metallic or pop out at you like yours does, really nice colour if you ask me.
mines a similiar colour but with a white hat

Car looks great and be even better w/ the A4 which for 69 was a kind of a grey actually .. my dad had a 69 RR that was grey and it was really pretty.

yeah he's got a sweet ride and i'm sure he is enjoying it and enjoying researching it and asking questions like he did. IMHO I don't see anything wrong with wondering about those things or enjoying you car's history and rarity.
