Hey guys,

I am still working on a a833 transmission swap from a 727. I am having an issue with my torque shaft pointing far down and not lining up with the bracket properly. I am not sure what is forcing it down so far and how to resolve it.

I grabbed a few pics but its hard to get a camera in there. All the parts I have bought are brand new except the clutch fork. It measures at the correct 10 7/8 length. I have been able to drive the car around but just noticed how bad the angle in the bar is.

Anyone have an idea of what to look for?

What part number bellhousing are you using and what year/model is the car?

Hey Mopartparts,

The car is a 1969 Dodge Coronet 440. It has a 383 engine. I have a pic of the bell housing when I picked it up, I belive it is 11" and has a 1969 date stamped on t with number 2892626 I believe.CAM00853.jpg

Looking at you pictures gave me a headache so I turned them.

I suspect the frame bracket my not be positioned correctly. It could also be positioning of the engine/trans assembly, or part compatibility, or even a combination off all the above.

I'd try a screwing in a length of threaded rod from the bell extending to the frame to see where it comes out in relation to the frame bracket. MP chassis recommends the torque shaft be "straight across in any view" for a framed car.

Thank you for swapping the pictures around. I was posting from a phone and did not want to corporate. I removed everything last night and checked my bracket. There is a chance my bracket may be a hair closer to the edge of the frame than it should be. I also noticed my bolt for my bracket some how came lose so I tightened the heck out of it, and it looks straight.

After tightening it up I am now seeing the shaft not move freely up and down like before. So when I push the clutch in it does not return very far, seems the plastic bushings may be too tight against the ball-stud. Because of the time change I did not get very much done, I am going to look at it again tonight.
