Hi All,
I have a 1969 318V8 A904 Column shift box Satellite Wagon here in the UK with a few leak problems & was looking at getting a spare 'box which has been rebuilt & sat unused for a couple of years to fit.
The box in my car has a casting of A904 LA (as it should) & the numbers on the side are 289208072599 6259.
The box I've been offered is said to be from a 1967 car, (has been rebuilt in 2013 & sat unused since), has castings of A904 A & the numbers on the side are K2390223Y.

Will the box offered fit my car ok, & would there be any issues to look for on it as it has sat for so long?

Many Thanks for any help/info.
Paul

As long as the trans came from a like engine your fine. What I mean by like engine is that on MoPars, you can have a 727 that was bolted to a big block, small I know or /6 engine. They will not interchange with each other.

As long as that 904 came from a small block, it will bolt on.

After sitting for some years, you may want to inspect the front seal and pan gasket.
If you need a pan gasket, MoPar has an Ace gasket there using these days. Get the modern gasket.

904 ' s only came behind small blocks or the slant 6. If the starter motor mount is up high on the bellhousing it is for a slant 6 if the starter mounting is slightly lower than middle is for a small block. Also check too see if the tailshaft is the same length..

Thanks for that info Rumblefish360 - have ordered up p/n 4295875AC as mentioned on another post here. Having always used cork, does this new gasket fit as is - or does it need gasket sealer as well (Hylomar etc)
