Anyone got a good source for AC line fittings and maybe some hard lines? Going to reroute my AC system so it doesn't look a rats nest.
Thanks
Tim

Tim. I actually made my own out of aluminum. Just used some brass to make the bends, transferred them to a hard line. Know someone who welded the ends up for me. Also, he had the soft A/C lines as well. Not necessarily factory but it works, holds vacuum, and held a charge. Cost me $100 and a six pack. Can't beat that deal. Compressor is factory

Thanks! My routing looks similar to yours. I'm going to reroute them so all the lines will be on the pass side instead of on the battery side. BTW where is the one line going that is headed towards the dash?

Do you have a link for your build? Also where did you get your hard line and weld on fitting?

Thanks!!

I didn't want the low side to also clutter up the passenger side with the heater hoses and everything else there. So with that, had enough line to route it around the master, brake booster, along the firewall to the passenger side. It is out of the way from the steering column and everything else and secured it to the brake line that runs in the same route. In fact, I ran it just above the brake line. You should be able to source out aluminum tubing from a welding source, plumbing company,my Lowe's had it actually. I purchased some of the ends and my friends friend had some. The high side was actually a 90* but changed it to a 120* to the compressor because the 90* degree stuck up too far and just didn't look right. Also, my friends friend had the crimping tool as well. The ends are a -8 and -10 (?). I couldn't see buying the crimping tool for basically a one time use for $300-$400. So once we laid everything out, marked everything, we took it to him and had him crimp everything. I know IT'S NOT FACTORY but with everything going on in the front of my engine, it kind of "clean it up" a little by routing the low side of the A/C system to the driver's side. PLUS, it's my car and building it the way I WANT TO

This is on my '71 RR. No, I don't have a posting build of my car yet but will be doing it soon. Hope all would enjoy my build if nd when I do post my build. Keep you updated if and when I do. As soon as I get ALL of the pictures in order to post. One more thing- I purchased a relay mod for the front headlights from member "Crackedback" and his "wrap around". I mounted his relays under my battery box and put his 30 amp breakers on the arm supporting the arm for the breakers. Then used the factory bonding point for the front headlights to add his bonding. Here is a picture

So the line routing will look something like this. I'll run hard lines from the condenser up and over where the hose in the lower left is. That way the AC hoses will lay right with the heater hoses. I'll start ordering fittings and line after I get the radiator and condenser set for the last time. I think after my 5th trip to the parts store I may have the right belts for everything! I was thinking of doing the AC lines in braided line so they wouldn't be so big and bulky. But I'm not sure if that'd look good. What do you guys think.

A few things here I'm wondering about
1. Is the receiver/drier in the factory location?
2. Condenser- Is the condenser factory? Is both ends on the left or one on the left, one on the right?

I had that 90* on the low side on mine but changed it to a 120* just because it made my line stick up to far and wanted to bring it pointing down more. Looking good tho.

I know what you mean making trips to the parts store. I made several my own for belts, filters, ends, etc, etc, etc. I was told from a Gates rep that most of their belts will be hard to find an identical pair. He said because of how they're made that it's just hard to identically make any two. Therefore, he said to get several sets and to use the best fitting ones. I did have to get a few sets

Not a factory AC car. So not sure about the location. If I can squeeze it in between the grille & condenser somewhere I will.
It's a classic air kit I bought used.
Condenser was in the kit.
I planned on tweaking the one 90 coming out of the compressor like you mentioned. I'll have to get a fitting with the service valve pointed forward at 90 to clear my A12 air cleaner base.

Just ordered 6 fittings & hose for new lines from Cold Hose of florida. Everything for about $120. Hopefully I can get all the lines on in the next 2 weeks.

Also they have a "reduced barrier hose" not as bulky and bends easier.
