accurate exhaust

Product and quality are hands down one of the best....Gardner is comparable but a little more expensive...both now offer the factory "flat" spots on the h-pipes....if your looking for stock appearance and fit look no further..great customer service as well

I've been thinking of installing duals on my '66 Charger and went to their site. Turns out they manufacture them about 30 miles from my home.

Talked to Tom at the plant. He gave me good info. and I probably can do it myself.

My car is all original (except paint) 361 with a single single pipe. It runs great, but is no speed denom. So I'm still thinking it over. Probably won't improve performance much, but will look cool.

My practical side says wait 'till rebuild time and just make it a 383 and then add the duals. It's got 110K and burns zero oil , so that may be a ways off.

My car guy side says F it and get the duals.
So I guess I'll mull it over.
What would you do?

Rag.

Duals and Accurate Magnum mufflers. You owe it to your neighbors. They can probably barely hear your car now. Worse, they may have only Chevy's...

I have the accurate b-body hemi-style stock replacement mufflers. I am super happy with the sound - subtle at idle - but nasty when you get into it. Price is real fair for a quality product.

We used a complete accurate system (minus tips because we used NOS ones) on the Roadrunner I am currently restoring...I have a thread in the member's project forum with over 700 pictures to this date... Haven't heard it yet due to not firing yet, but as far as fitment and quality and price...I highly doubt anyone will beat it. Thumbs up!

It's all been said!!
Two thumbes up!!!

I originally ordered a exhaust kit from yearone about 2 years ago for my 66 charger and it did not fit at all and all the hangers were incorrect. So then i ordered a kit from accurate and everything fit perfectly. It only took about 2 hours to install instead of spending days like the other exhaust took and didn't even fit in at the end.

If your not looking for factory stock or going OE gold then yes....they may seem expensive. Price it at a custom exhaust shop (aluminized pipes, mufflers, tips, hangers, clamps and hardware) and see what that costs....I'd be surprized if it was less than $750. I personally didn't mind paying $1000 for a factory appearing exhaust system (right down to the clamps and hangers) that fit perfectly and that I was able to install in less than 2 hours. BTW, first time I have ever installed an exhaust system.

I was quoted a new exhaust from a custom muffler/ exhaust shop 2 weeks ago from the manifolds back....$600.00. over $1000.00 is just plain outright RIDICULOUS!

im not saying they're not great....i am saying they are too expensive!

money well spent.not like thoses muffler shops pipe banging shocks ,and no junk ***

Here Ya Go Pops...

very nice , any photo's???

Some poor photos of a VERY NICE system. Couldn't be happier. I spent an hour last night not following instructions, called Accurate this morning and was told (politely I might add) to follow the instructions - Install the parts from the back forward! Seems counterintuitive, but it is MUCH easier that way. You'll see from the photos that this system (1970 Roadrunner, 383HP; Accurate full system; Magnum mufflers) is connected at the front to a new set of Schumacher Creative Industries Tri-Y headers. Again: Follow the instructions and it goes like clockwork. I did both systems (headers, exhaust) with the engine in the car, car on jack stands in the garage.

As has been mentioned here, this stuff IS expensive, but it fits, and even mates together, perfectly. Name another aftermarket product that you bought for a 40 year old car that fit without the slightest modification...

For header installers: I had to replace 2 of the manifold studs which came out with the long shoulder bolts at firewall end of the engine. When you pull these out, your cooling system will empty onto the floor of your garage, missing entirely the bucket you placed underneath as the coolant runs along the trans pan and other surfaces only to drip out in places you never would have imagined. It will also pour coolant on and into your starter if you're not careful.

I give accurate a 5 star rating: replaced the exhaust in my 69 rr and it bolted in flawlessly. be careful however they will try and squeak in every thing they can into the deal to build up the cost. go for stainless steel tips, maybe not factory but the shine on them and the durability hands down is better than Gardner. (make sure you take off the stickers from them before you drive around as they burn into the zinc coating and leave ugly marks)
