Searched but did not find anyone who has installed AC in a B body with a RB and and cross ram intake. I plan to purchase a full set of AC pulleys and brackets but concerned about clearance between the compressor and cross ram. Has anyone installed AC on a RB with a cross ram?

Here's the AC bracket I plan to purchase: http://bouchillonperformance.com/inc/sdetail/467/567

I would guess no. I have seen GenII Hemi A/C with a low mount bracket that mounts the compressor under the alternator.

I'm installing a Vintage Air unit in my '64 Polara and wanted a stealthy non obtrusive look. I'm not running power steering so I used the http://bouchillonperformance.com/inc/sdetail/467/568 bracket to mount it low on the driver's side. Keeps the compressor out of the way and will allow me to run the lines outside the engine compartment in the fender wells. I have a way to go to get this whole thing installed but will post pics when its done.

Here's the compressor installed on my 440.

You can also run the screen compressor on the pass side and power steering pump on the drivers side if ya want, Bouchillon has the brackets.

I went to the website am not sure of the bracket you're referring to. Would you mind posting the part number? Thanks

No problem

Thanks for the info. I've been talking with Randy Bouchillon, but he never mentioned this pass side AC mount option; good to know. This would solve the potential interference issue with the cross ram when mounting the compressor above the water pump. I'll call Bouchillon again.

Randy Bouchillon talked me out of the passenger side AC mount (4715) because he said its a bitch to install unless the motor is out. Also, the alternator runs off the second groove of the compressor pulley and has a high potential for belt squeal according to Randy. Here's the disclaimer from the Bouchillon Performance site:

NOTES: 1-You will loose your mounting for your Mechanical Fuel Pump
2-Some Engine Mounts and Insulators will require Clearancing and Modifications for fit.
3-Any Alternator other than Stock Output (15/60 amps) will cause a BELT SQUEAL FROM HELL!
4-This is the HARDEST BRACKET WE MANUFACTURE TO INSTALL CORRECTLY. Mounting Points have moved over the years in Castings, Fore and Aft. Compressor and Alternator is driven by 1 Single Belt. It is Highly Recommended that this bracket be installed while Engine is on an Engine Stand. Perfect Pulley Alignment is REQUIRED (+-.040"). A Straight Edge and Digital Calipers recommended to check TRUE PULLEY ALIGNMENT. PREMIUM BELT IS A MUST.
5-This Bracket is NOT Recommended for a vehicle that will be driven alot or long distances. Most popular applications are vehicles that stay close to home. Adjustments are hard to perform on the highway.
6-NOT HEEDING TO ALL NOTES ABOVE WILL AWARD YOU A "BELT SQUEAL FROM HELL"

Unfortunately the brackets that mount they AC above the water pump (4700) will not work with a cross ram...not enough clearance.

Randy knows his shiot when it comes to Mopar pulleys and will help you figure it out. One thing I learned...there are non-AC pulleys for the crank, water pump, PS and alternator and a different set of pulleys for AC cars and you can't mix them.

That's too bad. I'm gonna do it in my 69' Dart.
