So I have to pull my head off to fix a pesky broken exhaust stud. This also serves as a time to clean the intake manifold and verify that the engine build I was told at purchase actually happened.

I have been a chevy guy for years and this is my first Mopar SB. Found these caivities on the existing heads and some RTV squirted in. Also appears they used stock intake Fel Pro gaskets and not the fel-pro #1213 or Edelbrock #7276.

What is the correct way around this issue in the center of the head/intake.

That upside down "U" shape is a heat sink and can just simply be cleared of the RTV. It can be left covered up or uncovered. Any quality 340/360 gasket will do.
