I'm having the hardest time finding what gauges to use for my 65 Belvedere. Of course, everyone makes the other two Mfr's, but nobody lists the parts necessary for Mopar. I've seen people using aftermarket gauges, so what do you do for the Speedometer and Fuel Gauge when you want to use VDO or Auto Meter Gauges? Does everything have to be bought individually, or is there a kit that will work? I'm stumped...

Thanks...

Thanks, but a picture doesn't help. I guess I wasn't specific enough.

I want to install an aftermarket gauge set, like VDO, or Auto Meter. At Summit Racing they list kits for GM and Ford, but nothing for Mopar. I know all the other gauges are Electrical and will work fine, but the Speedometer and Fuel Gauge are where the problems lie. All I can find is 5/8" -18 or Clip-type for the Speedometer, and ohm ranges for the Fuel Gauge.

Specifically, I'm trying to find out what others did to add a gauge set when it came to the Speedometer and Fuel Level Gauges. Did you have to change the fuel sender and have a custom speedo cable made? Or...?

Thanks.

Not to sound like a @ss but why dont you redo the originals-

Autometer seems to have the most compatable ive seen as far as aftermarket

VDO makes a speedo that works in a mopar.I had one in a 70 RR and is electonic and works off a sending unit that bolts in the spot of the mechanical sending unit in the trans.
The fuel guage i cant help with, the car had a cell with a compatible guage.

You aren't being an ***. The car only has a speedometer, fuel gauge and temp gauge. I want more instrumentation and don't really care for the underdash trio of gauges, and an underdash tachometer. I'd like full instrumentation, so I'm looking at replacing all of them. Plus, I have a 74 tans in a 65 (original cable shift) car, so a lot of what I'm doing is going aftermarket anyway.

I was looking at VDO and it looks like I'll have to have a speedo cable made anyway, but the fuel sender is where I'm not too sure. I guess I can check the resistance on my sender and see if it's compatible with the VDO gauge...

I really hate it that these vendors cater to Ford and GM and leave us out of it!
