I am thinking of putting in aftermarket gauges in the 67 gtx. Who has an aftermarket water temp gauge & where on the engine did you install it ? 440 engine I want to keep the heater hoses.

Autometer from Summit Racing are a decent price and reliable.

Depends on what water pump you have. Some have a bigger plug that will accept the mechanical sending unit. Some have the smaller threaded hole for the electric guage. I guess you could drill and pipe tap that one for the large sending unit.

I used a heater hose port with the brass adapter for now.

This is the small electric guage sending unit.

I used the plug up between the heater hoses for the water sending unit.

I also have Autometer and installed the sensor between the heater hoses and the radiator hose on the water pump. This is on a 383 so I'm not 100% sure your 440 is the same, but I think it may be.

I used a 1" adapter that is threaded for additional fittings that I needed for my hemi when I converted to Fuel Injection. It goes between thermostat housing and water pump. Its a Mezeire water neck spacer # WN 0028U and I got it from Summit.
