Jack up the car at the center of the rear BUMPER or use two jacks then add air, they will go way above 45 psi. Do not jack with the center of the rear.[/QUO
Actually if you let the air out and then fill them back up the car does raise about 3 inches...I was just curious as when we had our 1966 Malibu those air shocks could totally raise up the rear end...65 psi and the Malibu was doing a nose dive...Marla

I may be way off base Marla but it may be because the Malibu had coils and your RR leaf springs...
Are you running separate lines to each shock? Doesn't have anything to do with psi but cars will usually handle better if they are set up that way.
I run mine about 30-35psi all the time...raises the rear about 1 inch
