Why anyone would put any of this “SMART” technology in their home is their business. You’ll never find it in mine.

Business Insider reports that Amazon workers in India and Romania are watching footage of Cloud Cam home security recordings in order to improve the AI technology. From their report:

“Amazon reviews these video recordings to improve the performance of its Cloud Cam, helping it to better distinguish between an intruder and normal household activity. Amazon’s review team has in some cases assessed up to 150 video clips per day that are usually 20 to 30 seconds long, according to Bloomberg.


Amazon only reviews clips that are submitted by Cloud Cam owners for troubleshooting purposes, as well as those from employee testers, according to Bloomberg. However, two of the people Bloomberg spoke with said that footage submitted for review in rare cases included private interactions, such as recordings of sexual activity.

Customers can share a specific clip with Amazon to improve the device’s performance through the Cloud Cam’s feedback option, the company says. When a clip is shared, Amazon says it “may get annotated and used for supervised learning to improve the accuracy of Cloud Cam’s computer vision systems.”

Amazon’s terms of service agreement for the Cloud Cam doesn’t explicitly say that the company’s workers may view footage recorded by the camera. It does, however, say that the customer grants Amazon permission to “review your Cloud Cam recordings to provide technical support.”

I still have things called light switches in my house, and up till pretty recently all my light bulbs had things called filaments.

My wife had to have one too. After I showed her several news items and explained the upcoming “social score” that will certainly be used against patriots, I got her to agree to put Alexa on a timer so it is only listening for 3 hours in the morning. This way, the wife can use it as a timer and for daily Bible readings. Compromise.

Every time my wife has her head in the open fridge, telling Alexa to add such and such to the grocery list I wonder if she's forgotten how to write...or that her expensive phone has the same feature on it....

I could see having a ton of fun with one of those. Ask it crazy stuff like telling it to go screw itself, or to get off it's *** and get me a beer, and see what's its reaction is. This is just the surface of the fun you could have with it. Then, when your bored with it, take it out for shooting practice!

My friend and her daughter were talking about makeup in the same room as the device and next thing you know they started receiving emails on different makeups. The daughter had bought it for her five year old for Christmas. It's disabled now.

I heard a story about a ten year old who was useing it to do his math homework until his mom caught him.

The baby monitor was being hacked to hear what was taking place in the home also.

It's bad enough when your cell phone is being monitored everyday. You're being recorded as to your whereabouts, places you visit, people you communicate with, emails, ect.

I turn my GPS off when I'm not useing it but I bet that doesn't help. I have to update my preferences constantly because they are always finding a way to get into my personal info. The authorities can triangulate from the cell phone tower transmitters - that's how they find you....very helpful to Search & Rescue.

It's disabled now.

With a sledge hammer hopefully.


It's bad enough when you see suggested people on FB and Messenger. Geez....I use Snapperbook for fun with my buddies locally....this morning I had a suggested friend for that - Joey from FBBO The dang smart phones pilfer information out of your contacts and call history. I also noticed before my Gold was gifted yesterday, that all the adverts around the site were geared towards my browsing history - whether it be YouTube content or searching stuff out for home & work.

You are always being monitored electronically.....more so than the meth heads with ankle bracelets.

Lets not forget that all new cars now have built in boxes for monitoring your driving habits. They are like the black boxes on airplanes. It's just a matter of time before the Insurance companies mandate these into laws to be on whenever the vehicle is turned on. They claim its to improve driving habits and to cut down on false accident claims. Yeh...right

Also......how is it, that no matter where you are, as soon as you turn your car on, you're phone tells you how many minutes it is to home!

The smartest technology in my home is cable TV and internet. My opinion is these devises described in this thread can be used against the true patriots of this country. We see how foreign influence has invaded this country and there is no reason to give them more help
