Installing the 4 speed in my Road Runner. New everything. Shop manual says to use the C3951 alignment tool. I want to get this done without waiting for the tool that will only be used once. Anyone have suggestions for setting the linkage arms without the tool ?
Thanks, Rocket

Are you talking about the shifter fingers at the bottom?

I used a drill bit.

The tool is kind of scarce, but I managed to find one a couple of years ago. Before that, a drill bit worked just fine.

Used the drill bit & it worked great. Thanks.

ALSO: There's a C3951 tool on eBay for $25. Maybe someone here wants one ?

1/4" bolt about 3 inches long works just fine.
