which one did u go with ,n how much fabricating did u have to do ,n how much, any pics

I went with Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion (which is what I think you are referring to). The original. There are a lot of copies out there, some bad some good. I think I paid around $3500 around 8 years ago.

I had to do absolutely zero fabricating (unless you count drilling four holes fabrication). It really is a bolt on deal. The hardest part was getting the damned roll pin out of the steering shaft coupler. It was a lot harder than it should have been.

I'll post some pics a little later as I'm at work.

Originally got the manual rack, then switched to power steering because it was just too much of a bear to park.

Positives:

  • Headers drop in. No steering box or torsion bars in the way
  • Tons of room to run different oil pans
  • Corrected suspension and steering geometry - and you can run up to something like 7 degrees of caster.
  • Lighter than stock K-frame
  • Strong. I mean strong. Originally designed for drag racing and made to come crashing down off wheel stands.
  • Adjustable ride height
  • Air ride available.
Negatives

  • Increased turning circle
  • Coilovers have less travel than stock suspension
  • Anything under a 17" wheel and you have to watch your backspacing or it will hit the tie-rods. 14-16" rims must have a max backspace of 3.25"

That is one nice Polara. Good photos of the Kframe swap. Very interesting.
