For those running motor plate and alternator on a bb, how are you mounting that set up?

Tired of playing the hook up the battery charger game here.

Thanks!

i use the motor plate that bolts behind the water pump and use stock alt brackets and run the belt from crank and alt only. use a ele, motor to drive the water pump.

Here’s my setup it might work for you I use a ford 3gen alternator 135 amp

I welded a tube to the water pump housing. Then cut the 1/2 moon adjuster slot in the motor plate itself.

My alternator was moved down low to make room for the catch can off of the vacuum pump.

I run the east coast ultra mini alternator with the DMI low mount bracket and pulley. Nice clean setup.

Hi NSS Guy. I have the set up you're talking about. I grabbed you some pictures from the bottom side. Check it out. Oh and this is a Denso Alternator off of E bay. Lightweight, about 65 bucks, good amps. Pulley included.

Solid mounts so the adjuster is on the frame. Works well. The heim joint and rod goes to the motor mount ear to hold the motor. Got one on each side.

The AR engine plate has alternator bracket holes already. My bracket is just a piece of 1X2 tube, angle cut, 3/8" bolts from the inside of the tube facing backwards and tac'd into place. Just tighten the nuts behind. The bottom bolt, same thing but facing forward.

Just a better shot of the 1 X 2 tube bracket. Alternator lines up perfect for the belt alignment.

Ok hope this helps you with your own plan. And the alternator keeps the battery up just fine. Sometimes I will give the battery a shot with the charger when I'm standing around, but not req'd if short on time.
Good luck!

And a top side pic.

Adios Amigo!

On my 63 Max wedge I am using the DMI low mount. But I am trimming the plate to only u I will use my stockse the drivers side and bolt to the frame. Good torque strap and l will use the stock rubber mounts not solid to keep stress off the block. Just my two cents. I know of several Stock & SS Max wedge guys doing this.

Sure would be nice if my computer would let me print in English. If I don't spell check it makes up it's own mind. Will see with this post.
