We are at the stage of the restoration where the newly rebuilt 383 (original) is starting running and idling. While we were filling the cooling system the engine was starting to get hot. We shut it off before it got hot. It has a 26" radiator out of a Chrysler 300 Hurst. It has no shroud. I can get a shroud but for about the same money I can get an aluminum radiator with two electric fans. The car is very original but if I save the original parts what's the harm?

Has anyone made the change and what brand/size did you get? Are you happy with the results?

You're better off running a
single fan at a higher cfm.
Mine is a 3000 cfm fan.
From Summit.
The radiator I run is ordered
from speedway motors. 3
core 1" tubes.
440 fresh rebuild after break
in is running at 190 deg in
stop and go with ambient
outside air temps at 95 deg.
