I am new to any forum so hoping this "thread" is actually a "post" so I can get some much needed information. Old school Mopar guy who was out of action for 20+ years, now installing my rebuilt 440 Stroker back in my Dodge.......this is a street car, 4 speed, with some modifications and upgrades............Will a 26" aluminum radiator still allow space for battery hold-down? Any feedback on which are good quality radiators would be welcome, I plan on going with the electric fan(s) as well. Anybody ever use an electric water pump? Anybody install the QA tubular K-member and was the install fairly easy?

I bought this radiator for my 67 Coronet with a 440 stroker and it works great and is cheap.

I used a used mercedes fan for my car but there are plenty of other choices for electric fans.

I'm going with a Be Cool and dual electric fans but my battery is relocated to the trunk... I've never put much faith in an electric h2o pump on a Hi po street car....

Thanks Mike.......stock radiator was 22", as far as I can tell, 26" will fit without issues?

I believe mine is 26", I set it down in the bay and it looks like a perfect fit....I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to push or pull mount the fans....Looks like they will clear either way. I'll measure it this weekend when I go to the shop.

I know the factory 26" rad will fit in where a 22" rad once was. The drivers side mounting holes in core support line up with the factory 26". Have to drill new holes in the passenger side for mounting. You could trim out the hole in the support to make it as wide as the core but its not necessary.

Thanks for info, wanted that extra 4" cooling so I never have to do a rebuild again!

This is my rad install. It was in the car when I bought it, I just installed the stock plastic shroud over last winter. I am not sure of the rad brand but looks very similar to the Champion above. I am thinking about painting the rad black at some point. The car is a 66 Belvedere with a 727, stock battery location, external trans cooler on the front of the rad. There are 1/2" square tube aluminum spacers between rad support and the rad. Hope the pictures help. Sorry about the foggy images, must be pocket lint on the camera lens.

I put a 26 inch rad,aluminum, in several 22 inch spots. I used Champion direct fit(for a 26,lol) and worked excellent..easy to install.

Thanks. I was away from this stuff for years, then bought this car about 5 yrs ago, blew the motor last year. Motor is back, just need to get busy and git-r-done. This forum will be a good source, so much has changed since I was a younger (much) man.
