Always something with this dang car

So today instead of my brake lights coming on every time i hit the brakes one interior light comes on.. No brakelights. Any thoughts?

Bad ground. Try grounding the bulb socket or the entire taillight housing and see what happens.

Maybe a short in the wiring at the driver side kick panel? Not sure about your year car but on the 66-70 the brake lights ran through the kick panel along the wire shield under the rear seat and into the trunk.

So i found the fuse that was causing it. If the fuse goes again am i on a goose chase for a short in the brake switch wiring?

Chrysler came out with a way to entice people to stop smoking in the late 70's. If using the grit lighter it would cause nasty electrical problems...

I make sure the original lighter works in mine - and I do use it upon occasion, for nostalgia's sake.
A lot easier with wind while going down the road, too.

Sadly, I still have the habit. Family curse. My folks smoked liked chimneys. My dad burned holes in countless areas and his workbench had a line of burn marks where he'd set his grit off the edge. One time I let him use my brand new company car to take a long trip with mom; upon return he apologized for ahh...burning a hole in the seat...he made it to 94 and wasn't the smoking that did him in. Go figure.

My parents made me quit when I was 3 years old. Not joking. Apparently I would pick up my fathers discarded butts and get a drag or two out of them.....usually while riding my tricycle. Never smoked in my pedal car.

Sure if you want to pay almost $12 a pack. Ive got to move to a red state. Too many hippies and liberals here. I love this state but the regulations, laws and general mentality here is too much.
