Hi guys

Has anyone done anything fancy with their old AM radio... ie get it converted to provide an mp3 input, CD player connection, better amp etc etc?

We're considering what to do with our original AM radio in our 69 Sport Satellite and have read about a couple of the options. I'd like to keep it stock looking from the outside and would prefer not to have to fit a separate unit in the glove box. Wouldn't mind having a cd changer and/or amp in the trunk tho. But I'm not sure if the old radio could be made to operate the cds if the player is in the trunk? Probably not, now i come to think about it...

I read in Hemmings Muscle Machines a few months ago about a guy in New York that runs a car radio repair shop and freshened up their Buick radio and added an mp3 (ipod) connection, in the form of a flying lead that can be plugged into an ipod, walkman etc.

Also seen abit about these guys http://www.rediscoveradio.com/

I'd be interested to hear what other solutions people are using :idea1:

If any......

Thanks in advance :)

PBS(public TV) used to have a show on older cars, but I can't seem to find any info on it now. Anyway, they had a sponsor who made radios with just about any options (MP3, CD, etc.) that looked and fit like a stock. If someone remebers the show or vendor they may have what you're looking for.

I found a place that may help:
