Need help from the experts,

I am doing the typical B-Body trunk floor rust repair on my 69 GTX

Purchased Full trunk floor, extensions, rear crossmember and crossmember extensions.

The crossmember extensions; where they attach to the quarter extensions, have completely the wrong angle (see pics)

Wondering if the is a defect?? Or they are always this way??

Any help would be great!!

Thanks,

Jack

you obviously have skills...... just modify them to fit.......you can do it in an hour, and never think about it again

Calling @dadsbee
He would definitely be the on to know with Justin no longer here.
LOL Paul, these are the best I can find for pictures of my new ones in place. I didn't do the metal work, although I kept a weekly eye on it. Of course the Bee quarters are probably a tad different shape than an X...

I'll look at my thread, I didn't replace mine so should be a good comparison.

Thanks to all

The strait shots of the extensions were perfect!!!

I printed the photos and matched up my parts.

Conclusion: The AMD parts are REAL CLOSE to the originals in the pictures.

So, for me, I need to figure what is wrong, maybe the quarter patch panels welded on 20 yrs ago are out of wack :(

Off to the garage to figure it out

I have seen many cars incorrectly restored with the quarter panels coming straight down behind the rear wheel. The trunk floor extension needs to be angled in to match the crossmember extension.
You might want to get the rear bumper hung to test fit for width.

Also note from my pictures one side wasn't installed plumb, so that can also affect the angle. My quarters came out ok with the way they were on my car. You might see if you can install the quarter & extension with those brackets loose and weld them up last. Just a thought.
Also check your side marker holes. I didn't and had to open them a bit after paint. Nerve racking!
