An ODD thing happened today.........

hi kids....and Marla. ( lol).....ANYWAYYYYYYYYYY...i was "deluxxin" up the under dash wires ( for the record....WADDA FRIGGIN MESS ) on the Belvy II and i wanted to move the oil and temp gauges from BLOCKING THE FUSE BOX.....to a more suitable location. in a futile attempt to remove the temp sensor from the water pump housing...i had to cut the springy wire thingy.
When i did this...the foul stench of starting fluid filled under the hood...so bad that i had to get out of there.

heres my question: is there some kind of fluid in the temp sensor? i plan on getting new gauges anyway, but was just curious about this phenomenon.:headbang:

LMAO you cut the tube going to the temp sensor? It's not a wire pork chop it's a tube filled with a gas lol that smell is what is in the tube. Looks like your getting a new sensor and gauges one piece I believe.

HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA......... A WIRE PORK CHOP.......OMG MY RIBSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.... i had no idea there was gas in there....but i didnt cut the sensor itself,,,,i cut the wire...about an inch or so above it,,,,you know,,,,where it goes in the housing...i planned on getting new gauges anyway,,,but i couldnt break the nut loose from the water pump housing with a wrench:headbang:....so i cut it so i could put a 6 point socket on it and get it outta there!

Thats a new one, different maybe but ive done nutty things like this, i just wont tell all. lol... I can imagine what went around in your head wondering what the smell was.. The new one piece gauges will look great in it!!
