The German Mopar Nationals is the biggest Mopar-meet in my neighborhood and probably in Europe. It's only one day that it's crowded with cars (about 350). On saturday evening, when the German community isn't cranky, they let us do some oldskool racing at a small airport. Here's some material for you guys:

...and some material of the German Mopar forum(s):

Have fun! Love to hear what you US guys think of it...

Nice cars over there!Quite a few Coronets,the '68's seem popular.Several cars with black wheels,is it a trend or due to lack of funds for chrome?-maybe both! Guess if I didn't live in the US I would be driving an import too!Thanks for the links.

That has nothing to do with money. In general the Germans aren't the biggest fans of chrome wheels and wheels bigger than 15" when driving an oldtimer for example. From our point of view big, modern wheels on an old car are out of sync. Modern cars of course do have 18, 19 or 20" wheels. But most of them are slightly damaged because of the curbs ;)
Another reason may be the german TÜV. That's an institution that checks your car, your bike and so on every two years in order to assure that the car is still safe for the traffic. And you have to go there in order to prevent a monetary fine. And beside checking that everything is ok so far they have an eye on several components (especially when driving an oldtimer) concerning originality and having an experts' inspection report. Otherwise you are not allowed to use it. There are heavy requirements, bans and rules over here.

Nice cars! I was a little disappointed with the group entitled boobs and boots. :grin: Seems it's not what I really thought it would be. :no:

Many danke for the picture report from Deutschland! Ich hat keine idea!

If I had to use one word to describe it I would use Freiheit - Freedom.

Curious, because of the higher speed limits on the Autobahn, are people putting in overdrive transmissions?

@68GTX4SPEED: i didn't know that...Do you know Carsten Woitenek?

@RT4ever: there is no speedlimit on the Autobahn, but that doesn't mean you HAVE to drive that fast :) Most of the cars have original transmissions...
