I have a 440/727 in my 1967 Belvedere.
When I change to a 426 Hemi, will I need to change
the K member or motor mounts?
Are headers all I'll need?

The hemi cars all use different K-members and engine mounts. You can use conversion mounts instead of changing K-members. Schumaker makes the conversion mounts. Headers will be different. Trans is the same, most hemis use an 8 bolt crank flange so you may have to change flexplates.

All Hemis are 8 bolt. Schumacher is the easiest mounting, you may have issues with the passenger side shock tower. Also Master cylinder you can expect issues. rocker arms may hit inside of valve cover if you use the cheap chinese valve covers. Use the best quality American or Autrial Billet timing chain. Remember you have a large mass over head. Do your self a big favor and buy a good quality balancer. Torque converter bolts are larger than 400 or 383. Input shaft will need to be heavy for auto. Avoid duel carburetors so it runs well.

Yeah, I used the Mike Schumacher mounts. Check the motor mounts out in the pic below. They work great. I did add the protective plate to my K-member just as the factory did. Get it from Bob Mazolinni Racing or Mancinni. I order EVERYTHING from Bob Mazolinni Racing. (I like Bob, NHRA record holder, local here in So Cal, has Hemis all his life and he's quick to ship). Anyway, this plate protects the Hemi oil pan. I also "beefed-up" my Superbees' 727. I ran the TTI headers and the only trouble I had was (is) the new trans cooling lines from "Fine Lines". Boy, they are sweet BUT hard to bend in the back coming off the 727 trans and as they go forward past the convertor and headers.
This is a good time for you to Powdercoat your K-member too.

Clearance issues for me were the Stage V heads being larger than the "Mother Mopar" heads and almost touching the Air Conditioning blower motor. See pic below:

WOW! That's really close to the shock tower.
I love those valve covers. Who made them?
Great looking Hemi by the way.

Hi,
They are Hansen Stage V valve covers as is the heads and intake. a "better head" than Mother mopar. Thanks "Streetrebel"

Hi Super-bee_ski-

Beautiful install BTW!

I'm looking to put my 68' Street hemi in my 66' Coronet... w/same mounts and modified (heavily) Hookers.
Been looking at induction options (have a Rat Roadster) but do not want to deal with the tuning woes...
I'm interested in the Indy dual four set up (there manifold with 600 Edelbrocks)... wonder how you like the Stage 5 manifold and was wondering what carbs your using? Do you know if the manifold will fit with stock heads? Does the set up come with linkage? Cost approx?
I too will have a beefed up torquefight w/3K converter...

Thanks in advance for any info.

The Schumacher mounts are the least expensive way to go, but they raise the motor higher than stock so you may run into other issues as stated above like shock tower and master cylinder and I would think would not work with factory fresh air induction sytems. On the other hand, a hemi k member is quite expensive. I have seen quotes as high as $1500 to modify your big block k member for the hemi. I was lucky enough to get one from a friend who had picked it up at the mopar nats a few years back. I still had to make some slight mods to the factory hemi brackets to get the TTI headers to clear my power steering box. Either way you go there are trade offs. Just do your homework like you are doing now and you will make the right decision for what works best for you. Just my $0.02
