These have been cropping up as of late, and it seems that just about every brand Marquee is being socked away for a long time and then re-discovered and found. It just goes to show you that the American automotive owner is also a "sock it away" for another day to become discovered. Enjoy the read...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

It's also become a "hide it away and tell no one" mentality. Seems people, whether original or inherited ownership, have a tendency to keep these vehicle under wraps.

Yeah, like this Bearcat...

Carini found this particular 1921 Bearcat in Georgia, documenting the experience on his show, Chasing Classic Cars. According to a person posting on the H.A.M.B. message board—who was attempting to purchase the car before Carini flew in and picked it up in April 2015—the asking price was $30,000.

_______
Not far from me.

   Got to love the sites that publish articles like that. "Rare Cadillac" in the headlines. A T Bird in the first photo.

The Chevelle is more valuable.

I understand not all families are tight, and sometimes there is enough money thrown around that people don't know or care about certain things. Maybe a family can't decide how to split things and it is in court.

All I can say is no where in my life even one time have I been able to imagine a scenario where an entire home, much less cars, could sit like that ignored until it was considered abandoned. Maybe it is because I grew up so poor, I don't know, but this entire concept of "unresolved estate" is completely alien to me.

It could be a case of no will...and no offspring have the time, money, or inclination to go to court to sort it out.
That is what I mean though.... who doesn't have time to sort out a freegin house? Have you looked at what a house costs recently? lol

Unless there's a mortgage...or massive repairs needed...or flood zone....or childhood trauma... Hell, the survivors could be in a home as well (or worse). I'm an only child. I was in a bad accident in 08, coded multiple times. My mother nearly had nobody to will anything to when the time comes. Maybe the family grew apart (or the children are also dead), there's nobody to will it to, or if they are alive but estranged...neither side may know how to contact the other at all. If legal can't find survivors, they have to home for a period before the can legally do anything. And if they're a busy firm...the six month hold could turn into 6 years on the back burner.

You just never know.

Put it in a 'living trust', best case scenario, or a revokable trust, maybe ...
Or give the stuff away before you croak/die...

Even if you aren't rich it saves the inheritance from going thru probate,
here (anyway) as long as the total value isn't above $5 million,
in personal wealth, property & investments

It will help/save the heir's from undue/bureaucratic grief
& a lot of expense too
especially if you're poor & own anything of any worth/value

You can even do it even on-line now, for under $200 I think
$150 for a reg. straight 'will'
if it's not notarized, or done legally, it doesn't mean ****,
it's just writing on paper

My dad's 'living trust', cost him like $600 for a lawyer to draw it up,
20 years ago
when he changed it, like 10 years ago, to make me his executor,
I am his caretaker now too it simplifies a lot, I have sisters & bros.
it cost another $600
he also changed a few thing in it too, some of the jewelry or other stuff/property
he once had, he no longer has
& like %'s who gets what, at the same lawyers place...
Mine also a 'living trust', was far less
His & mine, also both have clauses, written into them, lawfully no arguments "period"
or the arguing/contesting parties, those heir's
'get nothing'
