Im needing to get some pinion angle shims and need advise. My trans is down 2.5 and my pinion is up 2.5 as it sets. From what Ive gathered these are the proper angles while under load. This is a street car but is mini tubbed, relocated springs, drag radials and big block. I was thinking that 3* shim would be fine since it wont see a track but with the 295 drag radials i thought maybe i should go to 5* since it will hook more than a smaller street tire. Any advise would be greatly appreciated,Stew.

I,m looking for the same advice. I,m leaning towards 4* down from 0.(-2 trans+2 pinion) and controlling hard launches with a snubber.

4* down with leafs and 1* down with 4 link is what i have been told by alot of racers

Thanks guys. I'm gonna give the 4* A shot and see how it goes.

let me know.lol

4* down from cancelling angles or just 4* down at the pinion?

4 degrees down from canceling angles. So trans will be down 2.5 and pinion will be down 2.5 and moving to positive 2.5 under hard loading. That's sounds right, right?

Oops, I meant the pinion will be down 1.5* at rest not 2.5*

Pinion angle is anywhere between 3-7* pinion nose down depending on what you're doing. Street car, 3-5*. Race car, 5-7*.
