So the antenna on my '66 Charger broke off at the base. High winds blew the car cover off and it took the antenna with it. I didn't realize these antennas don't collapse all the way into the fender. From searching around, it seems I can get a replacement (fixed or telescopic) or a power one that will collapse all into the fender. Or could buy any after market one. I would like it to look original and collapse into the fender, also would rather not have a powered one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You need to keep your existing antenna base, bezel and tube lock nut. It won't break the bank either. I haven't tried this myself but am considering it.

Wow, outstanding. So glad I asked. I might even have one of those around, they are typical replacement for '60s Mercedes.
